In the most recent issue of Arena Homme there is a fantastic shoot from the photographer Jamie Hawkesworth. His website mainly consists of personal work; very beautiful portraits from areas around England, mainly seaside or smaller towns. His series ‘Preston Bus Station’ is particularly nice, capturing its visitors with a lovely soft aesthetic and choosing spots with beautiful natural light. His images often have a painterly affect and this is also communicated in his editorial work. His series in Arena Homme uses varied studio lighting techniques, which still translate this soft look, usually easier achieved with natural light. The styling is inventive and unique, little pieces of set also coming into play to add intrigued and narrative to the images. Over in East London we at SHED studios we can’t wait to see what Hawkesworth produces next, see more of his work here.
