We loved Tilda Swinton’s slightly Edward Scissor Hands looking cover for Another magazine in the 2015 AW issue. Shot as Miarianne Lane, her musician character in the new hit Film ‘A Bigger Splash,’ also co staring Ralph Fiennes and Matthias Schoenaerts, Swinton portrays an eccentric individual. Initially caught up in the glamour, fast living and all the darkness that fame can bring, the film is set at the stars holiday retreat on an Mediterranean island, where Swinton’s character is trying to recapture her voice after wearing it thin, almost rendering her speechless. Another magazines’ shoot, by photographer Glen Luchford and with styling from Katie Shillingford, was produced and executed by the production company Sylvia Farago, and collectively everything came together seamlessly. Working with some of the most renound photographers and publications Sylvia Farago consistently produces excellent work, their clients ranging from Harrods, to i-D, to Louis Vuitton. Working with inspiration from the film, Tilda’s character, and the infamous David Hockney painting ‘A Bigger Splash,’ this issue of Another magazine blurs the lines between fact and fiction, something which both fashion and cinema experiment with simultaneously. Jefferson Hack, the editorial director and publisher of Dazed Group, states that ‘Fashion is the great fantasist and without fiction, cinema would be merely a documentary art.’ At SHED in East London, we believe this to be true and when producing shoots always try and inject an element of creativity, whether it is simple product imagery, or a more involved fashion story/campaign.
